Sempris Associates Donate to Family Whose Home Was Lost in Mudslide

JUL. 22 , 2014-MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – On Thursday, July 17, employees of Sempris, LLC, a Minneapolis-based marketing company, presented colleague Trent Carlson with $1,600 in donations for the Carlson Family Relief Fund at the State Bank of Belle Plaine.

On June 19, after record rainfalls throughout much of Minnesota, Randy and Terry Carlson’s dream home was destroyed by a mudslide. They soon found out that insurance would not cover the cost to shore up the hillside, rebuild their home, or replace their lost possessions. Their insurance policy does not cover land movement, which consists of mudslides, landslides and earthquakes.

Likewise, while FEMA said a mud flow is sometimes covered by flood insurance, a mudslide is not.

The Carlson’s son, Trent, is an employee in the financial department at Sempris.

"As soon as we got word of what had happened with Trent’s family, our team asked, what can we do to help? It’s extremely gratifying to me to see Sempris associates rally around each other in this way," said Sempris Chairman, President and CEO, George S. Richards.

If you’d like to donate to the Carlson Family Relief Fund, donations can be made online at http://www.gofundme.com/alh9t0 or addressed to the Carlson Relief Fund, State Bank of Belle Plaine, 201 W. Main St, P.O. Box 87, Belle Plaine, MN 56011.

Sempris Associates Donate to Family Whose Home Was Lost in Mudslide

JUL. 22, 2014-MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.
